Our story

When life gives you a fork, take it! That old saying sparked Fork on a Road—a fresh start, a new perspective, and ultimately, a business built on the belief that food is medicine. After a couple of life-changing events, I decided to dedicate myself to being more present, and I found that center in food—in the mindful act of cooking, the joy of sharing a meal, and the deep wellbeing that comes from nourishing ourselves and others.

My culinary adventure makes stops between Bihar, Bombay and Boston, honoring recipes passed down through generations of my family while celebrating what New England’s seasons provide. Today, Fork on a Road is a small-batch CPG brand offering artisanal spice blends rooted in Ayurvedic tradition, vegetarian meal kits that make seasonal cooking accessible and joyful, and cooking classes that build community around the table.

You’ll find me at farmers markets across Massachusetts, teaching seasonal workshops, and constantly experimenting with new flavor combinations in my kitchen. I’ve been featured in Edible Boston and Boston Globe and have collaborated with local farms and food artisans to build a community of home cooks who believe that good food changes everything.

our why

Food is more than fuel—it’s connection, comfort, and community. The simple act of preparing a meal became my meditation, my creative outlet, and my way of nurturing myself and others. I started Fork on a Road because I believe everyone deserves access to vibrant, nourishing food that doesn’t require culinary school or hours in the kitchen.

My meal kits make seasonal cooking approachable and joyful, celebrating locally-sourced produce at its peak—when it’s most flavorful and most nutritious. My spice blends bring bold, global flavors to your everyday cooking, turning simple ingredients into memorable meals. And my cooking classes build confidence and community, proving that the kitchen is where culture, connection, and everyday magic happen.

This is about more than selling products—it’s about sharing a way of living. It’s about slowing down to savor the seasons, honoring the rituals of cooking and gathering, and discovering that nourishment goes far beyond what’s on the plate.

Frequently asked Questions

What exactly comes in a meal kit?

Each meal kit includes all the specialty spices, seasonings, and hard-to-find ingredients you need to create the recipe, along with plant-based proteins (like lentils or chickpeas), and detailed cooking instructions. You provide the fresh produce, and pantry basics (oil, salt). Think of it as your recipe plus the flavor magic—you just add the fresh stuff from your kitchen or farmers market, your garden or CSA. Each kit makes 4-6 servings, freezes well and is great for meal prep.

Absolutely. Our spice blends contain only pure spices and herbs—no fillers, no sodium, no preservatives, no artificial colors or dyes. Just real ingredients, freshly ground and blended in small batches. What you see on the ingredient list is exactly what’s in the jar—nothing more, nothing less. This is food as medicine in its purest form.

Our small-batch spice blends are freshly ground and blended to order. When stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, they maintain peak flavor for 12-18 months. We include the best by date on every jar so you always know how fresh your spices are.

Absolutely! That’s exactly why I created Fork on a Road. Our meal kits come with clear, step-by-step instructions, and the spice blends take the guesswork out of complex flavor profiles. You don’t need any special techniques—just a willingness to try something new and delicious.

Yes! While many of my blends are rooted in Indian traditions, they’re incredibly versatile. Customers use Masala-Tov on roasted vegetables and salads, Grandma’s Gold in smoothies and pasta, and Garam Masala on everything from scrambled eggs to sheet-pan chicken. Each product page includes creative usage ideas beyond traditional applications.

Yes! I offer seasonal hands-on cooking classes both in-person and virtually. Classes cover everything from spice fundamentals to complete meal preparation, and you’ll learn techniques you can use long after class ends. Check our website or Instagram @forkonaroad for upcoming class schedules, or contact me about private group classes.

You can find Fork on a Road at select farmers markets across Massachusetts during the season (June-October) and at retail partners listed on our website. Eat Local

There’s something magical about cooking with ingredients at their seasonal peak. That heirloom tomato from yesterday’s farmers market tastes better than anything shipped from across the country—and it turns out, it’s better for you too. Fresh, local produce retains more nutrients and flavor, and seasonal eating naturally aligns with what our bodies need: cooling cucumbers and leafy greens in summer’s heat, grounding root vegetables and squashes as winter settles in.

By supporting New England farmers like [farm names] and celebrating what grows here, we’re part of something bigger—stronger communities, a lighter environmental footprint, and a food system that works for everyone. My meal kits and recipes are designed to work with what’s fresh at your farmers market, making seasonal cooking simple and intuitive.

You’ll find Fork on a Road at [farmers markets/retail locations], and I’m proud to collaborate with local purveyors like [vendor names] who share our commitment to quality, seasonality, and community. Together, we’re building a food system that nourishes everyone—from soil to table.
