The introduction to coffee will take back you to its one and half decade’s history from its origins Ethiopia to current major commodity. This course gives a general overview of entire specialty coffee supply chain and explores topics such as history, cultivation, processing, roasting, variables that affect coffee quality, factors of freshness, basics of sensory evaluation and principles of brewing. Through the proper cupping section students will discuss sensory attribute of different coffees and its relationship with entire supply chain. There will be an online written exam upon completion of the course.
